Dave Stephens (guitar) BORN: United kingdom 1955 - MUSICAL HISTORY: Started playing guitar in early teens and graduated from playing pop and rock music to jazz/rock and from there to bebop and beyond.
Dave Stephens received early critical acclaim from top American jazz producer Michael Cuscuna. Recorded various limited release albums over the years and also contributed to, and performed on various jazz radio shows during the 1980's and 90's. In 2001 and 2003 Dave performed on two CD’s by The Paul Smail Group and in 2007 released a CD of piano and acoustic guitar duets (“Red Boats & Blue Skies”) with pianist Paul Smail to great acclaim by fellow musicians, critics and fans alike. Dave Stephens has also performed on the accompanying CD to Adrian Ashton's 'The Bass Handbook' (Backbeat Books).
